Our Suppliers

At Made in Oldstead, our menus adopt different styles to reflect the three growing groups Tommy follows – The Preserving Season, The Hunger Gap, and The Time of Abundance. With these, the menus evolve as different produce from our family farm and garden becomes available to us.

And if it’s not grown by us, we use local suppliers to encapsulate our seasonal ethos within every menu we curate. From prime cuts of beautiful meats from R&J Butchers to the best British-made artisan cheeses from The Courtyard Dairy, each and every ingredient is carefully selected. We’re also incredibly lucky to work closely with lots of talented distillers, brewers, and coffee roasters too – all located right on our doorstep.

Our Family Farm

Oldstead, North Yorkshire

Tommy and the Banks family have lived and farmed in Oldstead for generations. Every week we collaborate with our team of growers and gardeners to ensure our food box menus feature the best seasonal produce and preserved ingredients, all grown and nurtured by us. Our twenty-acre arable farmland is home to some of the finest-quality root, bulb, and leaf vegetables – from potatoes and chicory root, to over fifteen varieties of winter squash too. And over at our two-acre restaurant garden, you’ll find our tomato polytunnel, apple orchard, and lots of different herbs. We even have our own beehives there, with around 40,000 busy bees making honey in the summer month
